The First Amendment Challenge: Winning the Staring Contest

The First Amendment of the constitution is by far one of the single most courageous and challenging ideas protected by our democracy.“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.[1]”- Wikipedia These words test our ability to exercise self control and tolerance in the face of things that shake us at our very moral core. I woke up this morning, turned to my husband and said, "well, time to flip on the TV and see how Trump will force us to suck the day's dick!" Isis has used the attack to promote propaganda. (MSNBC news). The frequent attacks around the world being committed by local citizens beg the question, why? How is it that British, American, and other citizens feel...

A Letter to Trump Voter's

Dear Trump Voters, I would like to take a moment to try and understand how you arrived at your decision. I have many dear friends that voted for the is man. Many of them have petitioned me on facebook to "give him a  chance!" These same friends honestly believe that I am just a sore loser. "you're just mad because our guy won! Accept it and let us have our win," they say.  I feel compelled now more than ever, to understand this thought process, especially from my friends. First of all, this is not the first time my guy lost, hello George W Bush! Though sadly, I would hug him right now if he would come back, but I...

Commander in Cheat?

[...] one must question why it is that a military service member is held accountable to the Uniform Military Code of Justice, and the Commander in Chief seems to be immune from such scrutiny?
